Core Service Functions: We use your data to provide TruArc's core features, including storing your readings, calculating accuracy statistics, and enabling client management.
Communication: We send essential account notifications (password resets, billing alerts, subscription updates) via email. We do not send promotional emails without your consent.
Product Improvement: We analyze anonymized usage patterns to identify features that need improvement and understand how readers use the platform.
Data Sales: We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.
Legal Compliance: If required by law, we may disclose information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities with proper legal process.
Storage Location: Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which hosts databases on AWS servers located in the United States (us-east-1 region).
Encryption: We use encryption at rest to protect your data in the database. Data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL protocols.
Industry Standards: We follow industry-standard security practices including access controls, regular security audits, and monitoring for unauthorized access.
No Backups Policy Note: Supabase maintains automated backups as part of their service. You are responsible for exporting and backing up your data if needed.
PostHog Analytics: We use PostHog for anonymous usage analytics to understand how readers interact with TruArc. No personal reading data is included in analytics. You can opt out of analytics through your account settings.
Third-Party Services: TruArc uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Data Export: Paid plans (Reader and Pro tiers) can export all their data at any time in CSV or PDF format. Personal tier users can request exports by contacting support.
Data Portability: You own all reading data and client information you enter. You can export it anytime and take it with you if you leave TruArc.
Data Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us using the feedback button in the app or your account settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Right to Correction: You can update or correct your personal information anytime through your account settings.
TruArc is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the minor's account.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of TruArc after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated privacy policy.
